The
Ayurvedic
medicine is an ancient system and philosophy of health care native to the Indian subcontinent. It is sometimes considered as a Hindu system of health care because of its origins among the oral advice on living in the Vedas.
India is known worldwide for its Ayurveda treatments. Ayurveda
is used by millions of people in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and
increasingly in the west and is widely known as the oldest
continuously practiced system of medicine on the planet. Etymologically
it is composed of two words - "Ayur" and "Veda". Ayur means "life"
and Veda means "science or knowledge". Hence it follows that
literally Ayurveda means Science of Life.
According to Ayurveda, life is a combination of senses, mind, body and soul. It does not only deal with physical aspects but also with spiritual health.
The
concept of Ayurveda is to promote health rather than just treat disease. However, this traditional way to treat diseases is more and more considered in Western countries, providing a holistic alternative to modern medicine. For all those who want to learn the
Ayurvedic treatment, great masters will instruct you to a science that teaches how to live life in a true and natural balance.
